Terms of Use

The conditions that apply to this independent and unofficial WatchGuard Mobile VPN fan website.

Last updated: October 7, 2026. watchguard-mobile.net is an independent, fan-created information website published by a small group of users and enthusiasts of WatchGuard VPN software. It is not owned, operated, sponsored, represented, approved, monitored, or endorsed by WatchGuard Technologies or any of its affiliates, distributors, or partners. WatchGuard, WatchGuard Technologies, WatchGuard Mobile VPN with SSL, Firebox, Fireware, and all related product names, logos, interfaces, and trade marks belong to their respective owners and appear on these pages only to identify the subject of an independent discussion.

This is not an official WatchGuard website

This point is the most important statement on this entire website, so we make it plainly. We are fans and users of the software who write about it. We are not the software publisher, a distributor, an authorised reseller, a licensing provider, a customer portal, or an accredited support partner. Nothing on these pages should be read as a statement, announcement, or instruction from WatchGuard Technologies. Official client software, release notes, subscription terms, security advisories, compatibility details, licensing help, and legitimate technical support must always be obtained from WatchGuard itself or from a source WatchGuard designates.

This distinction matters for your safety as well as for accuracy. Our domain, our pages, our postal address, and our contact address have no connection whatsoever to any Firebox, VPN licence, or user account. Anyone who asks you to "verify your VPN session" through us, to download client software from a mirror site they control, or to share credentials as part of a support conversation is attempting to gain access to your network or your account. Treat such a request as an attempted intrusion and report the page.

No access to gateways, licences, or accounts

This website does not provide access to any Firebox appliance, VPN session, or user account. We do not ask for, receive, store, verify, or reset passwords, certificates, licence keys, or configuration files. We have no ability to connect to a gateway, extend a licence, recover a locked account, or terminate a session on your device.

Only the software obtained from WatchGuard's own channels, configured by your network administrator, can establish a genuine WatchGuard Mobile VPN connection. We are not able to verify one, and we will never ask you to prove your identity to us. If anyone contacts you claiming to represent this website and requests credentials or configuration data, treat the entire conversation as hostile and notify your administrator.

Educational purpose

Our articles explain general concepts: how a TLS-based tunnel behaves, why certificates matter, how split tunneling and routes decide where traffic goes, how authentication backends differ, and how to diagnose problems in a sensible order. They are general education rather than configuration instructions for a specific network, a security audit, professional advice, or a guarantee that a particular version or licence will suit your organisation.

Versions, features, licensing terms, and vendor policy change regularly. Current official documentation always takes priority over anything written here, including articles we have already published and would be glad to correct on request. Where this site and WatchGuard disagree, WatchGuard is right and this page is out of date.

Acceptable use

Use this site only with accounts, devices, and networks you are authorised to access or manage. Do not attempt to use the site to bypass authentication, defeat encryption, remove security warnings, probe infrastructure you do not own, scrape the site at scale, or interfere with its operation. Automated abuse of any kind is prohibited.

Users remain solely responsible for their own network security: keeping client software current, protecting credentials, signing out of shared machines, and following their organisation's own remote-access policy. A VPN tunnel is a doorway into a network, and opening it carelessly is a risk you take on your own behalf and your employer's.

Accuracy and availability

We aim to publish original, careful, and readable material, but we cannot guarantee that every statement is complete, current, or error-free. Descriptions of behaviour may lag behind a release, licensing terms may differ by region, and the client interface may change without notice. Descriptions in our articles should be treated as orientation, not as exact instructions, and no article here should be your only source for an important procedure.

The site may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We do not offer any uptime commitment and recommend that you never depend on a third-party fan website as part of a working security or continuity routine.

External links

Links to other websites are provided for context or convenience. We do not control their content, availability, files, cookies, security practices, or privacy policies, and a link does not imply a partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement. Check the destination domain carefully before installing software, entering credentials, or trusting any page that asks you to hand over anything sensitive.

Intellectual property

Our original editorial text and site design may not be republished wholesale, presented as official documentation, or used in a way that misrepresents a relationship with WatchGuard Technologies. Limited quotation may be permitted by applicable law when attributed accurately and fairly. Third-party trademarks, product names, and materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used under applicable permissions or fair-use principles.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of this site are not liable for data loss, account loss, security incidents, unauthorised access, business interruption, lost profit, lost work, or any other direct or indirect consequence arising from the use of this site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that applicable law does not permit us to exclude, and nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights.

Privacy, changes, and contact

Our Privacy Policy describes our limited processing of technical data and contact messages. Never send credentials, certificates, licence keys, or configuration exports — not in an email, not through the contact form, and not in any conversation with our team.

We may revise these terms when the site, our content, or applicable requirements change, and the date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use of the website after publication means that the current version applies. Questions about this independent website may be sent to support@watchguard-mobile.net.
